Welcome to D-Cubed Cellars website: a space dedicated to Zinfandel and the enjoyment of life, making wine, spending time with friends and good food.
D-cubed Cellars started in 1994 with the Howell Mountain Zinfandel made grapes grown at the Black Sears Vineyard. In 2010 D-cubed Cellars was called a Top Artisan Winery by Wine and Spirits Magazine, a wonderful honor.
What can we say about the 2012 growing season except that it was awesome. Nice even temperatures highs in the 80's to low 90's except two short times where it got to 100; one in July, and one at the beginning of October that kick started the grapes into finishing their ripening. This long smooth growing season allowed the vines to fully ripen the grapes with complex flavors and still maintain excellent acid. The resulting wines are fruity, intense and balanced. We winemakers dream about this kind of year! I think you will enjoy these wines now and for years to come.
Please check out all the pages we have on this website. Be sure to visit In Our Kitchen, which features recipes approved by my 21-year-old daughter and my 13 year old son, of course they pair well with D-cubed Cellars Wine.
When you are visiting the Napa Valley stop by my tasting room: Vintner's Collective, 1245 Main St. in Napa. There you can taste D-cubed Cellars current wines, and those of several other small wonderful wineries.
I am a member of the Board of Directors and past President of ZAP so be sure to visit the ZAP website to learn about all things Zinfandel. It has the latest information on ZAP and the exciting events that are coming up including the 2th annual Zinfandel Experience.
